Well, I play on VH/VH and as Scotland this is my strategy. You want to take the rebel settlements closest to England ASAP (York and Caernarvon), otherwise England will grab 'em up. You can take Prince Edward and a unit of border horse and take York turn 1, moving everything else towards Caernarvon. Another thing you probably want to do ASAP is

Empire is fantastic in terms of its scope, but it has a lot of mechanics that were improved for Napoleon. Empire with Darthmod would be worth playing. Steam has Medieval II Total War for $5. Is it worth it alone? I guess what I'm really looking to figure out is if the expansion adds anything to the ORIGINAL campaign or is it like Barbarian Invasion for Rome: Total War where it adds another campaign with campaign-specific units/civs?
