I was not getting any power to my glow plugs, and so the van didn't want to start in the cold weather. I checked for voltage at the relay and all seemed fine

The basics of a glow plug are easy to explain. They are essential for ignition in diesel-powered engines (as opposed to spark plugs in petrol engines); they heat the air/fuel mixture in the engine so it ignites easily under compression; they are built to be long-lasting and work reliably no matter…. www.denso-am.eu. Hey all, 1.4 02 TDCI. Have an issue with glow plug light, going do more testing to see if circuit is live when first turn the ignition (being this cold outside it should!). Last few days its been working until yesterday when again no glow plug light and 2 - 3 times to start and idle little lumpy (not loads mind).

The glow plugs on this model of car are located in the upper part of the engine, immediately behind the tappet cover, but to be able to replace them you have to practically remove both the intake duct that passes right above the cover and the masking of the cable harness.
